Psychology case study assignment
Submission Date –20th December 2012
Demi Browning is 12 years old. She asked to speak to her PE teacher this morning. Demi was very distressed. At first Demi would not say a lot, but after much reassuring and coaxing she told the PE teacher that this morning she walked pass her brother’s bedroom, she could see Christopher (17) on the bed and Ella (7) was touching ‘his willy’.
The teacher asked Demi if she was sure that she had seen. Demi said, “Yes, I know what she was doing. He’s made me do it, and other things too.”
The PE teacher spoke with the Head of Pastoral Care at the school. They asked Demi if they could contact her mother and father. Demi became very scared. She said, “Don’t tell them. I’ve tried telling mum, but she doesn’t believe me!”
