Chartres Cathedral of Notre Dame Research Papers
For your citations, please use footnotes, not endnotes. Footnotes should be in the same font as your main text, but approximately two points smaller in size. Please be sure to follow Chicago Manual of Style citation formatting, which is the de-facto standard in Art History (and History); please do not use MLA, APA, or other formatting systems you may have used in courses in other departments. Books and journals should be cited identically whether you read them in their original format or in digital form. In other words, do not cite journals accessed via JSTOR or other online databases any differently than if you had read them on paper, since the two formats are identical: do not cite the URL, mention parenthetically that you used these sources “online,” or give the date you accessed it, etc., since this is irrelevant to the citation.
Please also use images where necessary, included at the end of the paper instead of interspersed throughout the text.
